Frequently Asked Questions
Will this conflict with my existing SureMembers setup?
No. The plugin reads your existing SureMembers groups and only adds sync logic. Your groups, rules, and content restrictions stay exactly as they are. You can deactivate fg-access-manager anytime and your access setup keeps working.
Do I need to remove old sync plugins first?
Yes — deactivate (don’t delete) any old sync plugin like fg-sm-sync first. fg-access-manager auto-imports your existing mappings, so you won’t lose configuration. Running two sync plugins simultaneously creates double-sync loops.
What happens to existing users during migration?
Click ‘Sync Now’ once after activation. The plugin reads all existing users, checks their FluentCRM tags, and grants matching SureMembers groups. Initial sync processes ~100 users per second. Subsequent changes sync in real-time via FluentCRM hooks.
Can I customize the lock gate messages?
Yes. Three ways: (1) Edit the default copy in class-fgam-lock-gate.php for site-wide changes. (2) Override per-group via SureMembers in_content rules. (3) Use the ‘fgam_scenario_copy’ filter in your theme’s functions.php for programmatic control.
Does it work with Bricks / Elementor / Gutenberg?
Yes to all three. The plugin uses standard WordPress hooks (the_content, template_redirect) so it works with any theme or page builder. Lock-gate templates use semantic HTML that picks up your theme’s typography automatically.
Is this plugin free?
Yes — 100% free, GPL-2.0-or-later licensed. No premium upsells, no feature gates, no telemetry. Built and maintained for the FluentGrowth community. Contributions welcome via the GitHub repo.
